Donna Ward Lehman

Biography
Donna Ward Lehman is an art instructor at Middletown High School in Middletown, Maryland, where she is teaching Dual Enrollment ARTT101 through Frederick Community College this semester, providing students the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school. This is a limited offering, as the course will not be available next year. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from Shepherd University in 1996 and her Master of Liberal Arts degree from McDaniel College in 2004.
Lehman is an active exhibiting artist whose work has been featured in numerous regional exhibitions. She participated in Artomatic Frederick in 2013 and 2016, and in 2013 presented a solo exhibition, Collected Items, at Co-Work Frederick. That same year, she was selected for the “Eco-Art” exhibition at The Bridge Gallery.
Her work has been selected multiple times for the Annual Cumberland Valley Juried Artist Exhibition at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts (2015, 2016, 2017, and 2024). She also participated in the Delaplaine National Juried Annual Exhibition in 2015 and 2017, and in a 2015 joint exhibition at the Washington County Arts Council.
In 2016, Lehman was awarded First Place in the Strokes of Genius Exhibition, presented by the Maryland Federation of Art, and was selected again for the exhibition in 2017. Since its inception, she has participated annually in the Frederick County Public Schools Art Instructor Showcase at the Delaplaine Arts Center, including the 2026 exhibition.
Lehman grew up in Brunswick and now resides in Hagerstown with her husband. Her current body of work focuses on mixed media painting.
